APPLIED SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICUM

The Applied Sustainability Practicum is one of the many hands-on, experiential learning courses offered in the Environmental Studies Program at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The course examines the theory and practice of sustainability at three levels:

A global issue at the nexus of social, environmental, and economic concerns

A guiding principle for the operations, teaching, research, and outreach at institutions of higher education in general

A specific set of challenges, programs, or targets for our own beloved St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

An array of applied projects enable students to help our campus and broader Chesapeake communities increase our understanding of social, cultural, and environmental change in Southern Maryland by  using our campus as a case study in sustainability.
